Managing Hormones in the Office

I was warned from the beginning that pregnancy hormones can be a wild ride, one minute you’re a regular person, and the next you are uncontrollable, whether happy, angry, sad, mad, you suddenly feel like a teenage girl all over again, on a roller coaster of emotion.

This has snuck up on me more than I would like to admit recently, as I move from the second to third trimester, it’s like my emotions have caught up with my growing belly, and I am just along for the ride until the new year (assuming the baby will wait until the new year).

What I would like to know, is how you manage to keep your cool and manage the mood swings while trying to look professional and put together in the work place?

The best solution I have found so far is to be selective with my tasks when my emotions start to get the better of me. If emails to and from students become frustrating, I make a point to leave my emails alone for a little while, and move on to another task.

So far this seems to be working, but as my pregnancy moves along, who knows if it will continue to work.
